Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and supplies for our nine-month Fire Rocket Challenge program/competition. Students meet weekly to learn aerodynamic principles to support their ability to design, build, and fly model rockets that meet competition performance targets to launch an egg payload.

Donations to the Annual Fund support our general operations and the mentorship program that prepares students to compete internationally. Equipment and travel stipends are two salient needs.  Several Fire Rocket students have been selected for the US Junior Space Modeling Team.  Coaches' and students' families are responsible for purchasing supplies for their models and traveling to countries worldwide! The group will travel to Serbia for the 2025 Championships.

Funding for this category ensures STEM workshops are provided to the community free of charge. The hallmark of our outreach program is the Build and Fly Workshop. Teams of Fire Rocket students and coaches facilitate workshops for people in the community. Families across Maryland, DC, and Virginia are invited for a day of building and launching at our Annual Community Rocket Day.  Additionally, our teams travel to schools, conferences, and organizations around the United States upon request to provide STEM workshops that participants attend free of charge.
